About
Annabel Cropper is an artist and designer, living and working in Christchurch, New Zealand
BACHELOR OF FINE ART & BACHELOR OF ARCHITECTURE
I am interested in the transformation of flat shapes into three-dimensional objects. In 2016 I began working on a series of 'useful' sculptures. I collect folded objects often discarded and unfold them to reveal the pre-fold shape. I construct my own imagined discarded shapes which are then folded to become my useful sculptures; something to look at and to fling your coat onto. They are architectural fragments: corner, partition, alcove; and scaffolds for the detritus of everyday life.
